THE
DUNGEON OF NOISE STARTS PRODUCTION ON "DAWN OF LIFE" |
|
July 10th, 2006 The Dungeon Of Noise starts production on a short movie for a Music4Benefit sub project called "Dawn of Life" ("Dageraad", Dutch title). "Dawn of Life" reflects the working of the palliative services, taking care of a termanilly ill patient, from his arrival at the centre to his death. But "Dawn of Life" doesn't show us the palliative care centre as it is ! The short movie reflects this patient's last moments as a train voyage to an unknown destination. "It's an alternate view to the workings of the palliative care centre." explains Curt Coekaerts. "We're going to need all the tricks in our box,"Curt continues, "as this project calls for some serious fx". More on the short movie as this project progresses. |

"SOUND
! CAMERAS ! CLAPBOARD ! ... AND ACTION !" |
|
January 18th,2007 Thats's what people have been
hearing every weekend since shooting began on "Dawn Of Life"
when Curt Coekaerts starts another recording session. In the postproduction department, things are moving as well. Since the team usually films on Saturday, during the week there is time to work on the footage (removing chromakey blue, adding digital backgrounds, removing microphone cables, etc...) Asked when first movie material will be released online, Dennis De Backer replied : "we'll start with putting some behind-the-scenes still images on the site. Later when the movie teaser is ready, we'll post it online as well." |
Dennis
makes adjustments to the clapboard while Curt checks the shots in the
storyboard (which contains more than 700 pages). |

"DAWN
OF LIFE" MOVIE POSTER REVEALED ! |
|
Wednesday, September 5th 2007 After a few months of almost total silence, now a very positive signal has left the Dungeon. Today, the team revealed the official movie poster for "Dawn Of Life". "We stayed true to the original concept, which was the teaser poster" says Jan Robberechts."For this final version, we tried to find a good blend of colours to keep the mystery, but at the same time find elements to give the image a sense of reality." The poster shows actor François Van de Voorde in front of a steamtrain, both in the middle of the railway track. "Combining CG and live action is something we got quite used to last months." Jan continues. The final movie poster can be seen from up close by clicking here. |
